ST. GEORGE’S, Grenada — Jamaica, the defending champion, has maintained its dominant lead in the CARIFTA Games 2024, after Day 2 at the Kirani James Stadium. At the end of the competition on Sunday, 31 March, the Jamaican team has collected a total of 49 medals, including 24 gold, leaving its closest rival, the Bahamas, trailing with 25 medals.
The Jamaican athletes’ impressive performance also earned them 15 silver and 10 bronze medals, which kept them on track to match or top the 78 medals won last season
Out of the competing Caribbean nations, 17 have secured at least one medal, showing the depth and competitiveness of talent across the region.

Furthermore, athletes from nine countries have had the honor of standing at the top of the podium with gold medals shining around their necks.
The Bahamas sits comfortably in second place with 25 medals in total, including seven golds, nine silvers and nine bronze medals, while Guyana rounds out the top three, albeit with a significant gap, holding 5 medals in total, but four gold medals.
Trailing behind are Trinidad and Tobago, and Grenada, the host nation, which has gathered 15 and 9 medals, respectively.
