The 3rd Lucca International Meeting, which is part of the World Athletics Challenger series, took place at Campo Scuola Moreno Martini. Olympic champion Lamont Marcell Jacobs won the men’s 100m, clocking an impressive time of 10.07 seconds (+1.1 m/s).
Jacobs, who secured the Olympic title during the Tokyo delayed 2020 Games in 2021, had set his sights on breaking the sub-10 seconds barrier as he prepares for his title defense at Paris 2024 later this summer.

Although the Italian sprinter fell just short of that goal, he remains optimistic about his performance and looks forward to further improvements as the season continues.
This weekend’s race marked Jacobs’ second 100m outing of the season. He had previously finished in second place with a time of 10.11 seconds at the East Coast Relays meeting in Jacksonville, Florida, back in April.
