Doha, Qatar – The Qatar Association of Athletics Federation (QAAF), in collaboration with the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), has the pleasure of announcing their official candidacy for the 2017 IAAF World Championships.

Doha 2017 submitted their proposed plans for the 2017 IAAF World Championships to the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on September 1st. The Doha 2017 Bid Committee is headed by H.E. Sheikh Saoud Bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Secretary General of the QOC.

As a committed partner to the IAAF, Doha 2017 is the right partner to ensure that the 2017 IAAF World Championships showcases Athletics at its very best, while also developing solutions for expanding Athletics for the future.

Everything is in place for an unforgettable Championships.  From a state of the art stadium to the highly anticipated development of “Athletics City”, a new property development that will accommodate the Athletes and the IAAF, Doha 2017 will be a Championships that exceeds all expectations.
